When I was in college, I somehow recognized the feeling that stress was at some point going to be among my worst enemies in the years to come. I got my first taste of it when I was trying to finish my dissertation for graduation from college. With the world growing busier and busier these days along with the building technology, it is without a doubt that it is quite difficult for us to be able to find time for ourselves to focus and take it easy even for a short period of time. With that being said, it is relatively obvious to say that as we lose more time to somehow unwind, stress continues to build up as well. I've realized from such an experience that the secret is to relax. Regardless of how hectic the times seem to be, we need to be able to commit sometime to simply breathe and compose our minds.
One of the best techniques to do this is by deep breathing. Deep breathing is a simple, yet powerful, relaxation approach. Deep breathing is the cornerstone of numerous other relaxation procedures, too, and may be combined with other relaxing elements such as aromatherapy and music. All you really need is a few minutes and a spot to stretch out. When you do deep breathing, ensure that you do so from the abdomen, not just from the lungs. When you take deep breaths from the abdomen, as opposed to shallow breaths from your upper chest, you inhale much more oxygen. The more oxygen you get, the less tight, short of breath, and anxious you feel. Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Secondly, you could do it the way I did and try it by way of techniques of mindfulness. Mindfulness is the ability to remain conscious of how you feel right now, your " moment -to- moment " experience. Blaming and judging yourself -or worrying about the future can frequently lead to a degree of tension that's overwhelming. Actually this is something I am totally guilty about. I often tend to blame myself continuously, too. But by remaining calm and concentrated in the present moment, you can bring your nervous system back into balance. Mindfulness can be applied to activities such as strolling, exercising, eating, or meditation. Eating was my favorite, but pick the one you are most comfortable in.
As I have pointed out, it is all about relaxation. Have you granted much thought to your working environment as well? I'd understand if the answer is a no because I was the same when I was working on my dissertation. But consider giving a thought about your working space- is it neat and tidy? Or untidy and disorganized? Your working atmosphere can play a big factor to your personal relaxation too. It was later on that I realized that the chair I was sitting down on had a lot to do with my developing stress, not only that it gave me a bad back pain that put me on a wheelchair for many weeks. Avoid sitting in a slouched position for a long period of time ( particularly if your have a job that requires you to sit all day in front of a computer) and also try to get a good chair which will provide you with most comfort.
Most general practitioners and regular members of the working force these days advise the use of ergonomic furniture since it supports every curve and contour of your body while you work. Actually, it has been observed that ergonomic furniture is able to make you work longer and more proficiently. One good example of these ergonomic chairs is the Aeron chair.
Aeron chairs are one of the major brands in effective and efficient ergonomic seats. Though it may be a bit of a leap with regards to prices, they make up for it with their level of quality and efficiency. Also, Aeron chairs are not made to be like one of those wearisome office chairs. They are able to make any room as contemporary as possible with its sleek and smooth design. Think about it. May people who have used Aeron chairs in the past have absolutely nothing but good to say about it. Get one right now and see how it can help you reduce stress!
